At Rungas, our leadership team embodies a rich blend of multicultural, multilingual, and multidisciplinary expertise. With a global perspective and approach, our leaders are deeply experienced in navigating the complexities of delivering energy solutions on the ground. They are dedicated to leveraging our innovations and insights to advance international development practices across Africa and the Middle East.
Lanre Runsewe is the Chairman & CEO of Rungas Group and a visionary advocate for energy access across Africa and the Middle East. With a career spanning over two decades, Lanre has established himself as a dynamic leader dedicated to providing people-centered energy solutions.
Since he founded Rungas Group in 2008, the company has become a pivotal force in promoting the use of clean and affordable energy solutions, initially by offering efficient gas trading solutions and eventually promoting the manufacturing and distribution of composite LPG cylinders and steel CNG cylinders.
Runsewe’s work not only supports economic development but also enhances environmental sustainability and domestic value creation. Under his leadership, Rungas has proposed innovative business solutions to public and private stakeholders across geographies, focused on local content development, technology transfers and jobs creation.
His advocacy has earned him recognition as a key figure in the movement towards a more energy-secure Africa, making him a prominent voice in shaping the future of the continent’s energy landscape.
Lanre holds a BSc (Hons) in Management from Birmigham City University and is a qualified internal auditor and computer science professional.
He is currently the president of Sublime Energy and a member of the board of Mainstream Energy. He served as a Director/ General Manager of a multi- million dollar company SANBELL Group of Companies, a company with interests in manufacturing, agriculture, real estate, import and export and education.
He was also a Director / Chief Operating Office of Defcom Technologies Ltd, Energy Solutions Ltd, Sani Bello Foundation, Dornier Aviation Nigeria AIEP, Unifone Telecommunications Ltd And Allstream Energy Solution Ltd. He has an MSC in Communications Management (MCM – Buckingham University, UK) Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Information Technology & Business Administration (American Intercontinental University in London, UK)
A results-oriented and self-motivated professional with an excellent performance track record garnered over 27 years in Financial Services, Real Estate Investment & Development, and Business Process Re-Engineering across the West African Sub region.
